Below are two links regarding the current defamation suits against two bloggers in Malaysia, brought against them by the newspaper The New Straits Times.
The first of the two reports see the case a method of silencing Internet users.

The second link discusses the defence of the legal action by the Malaysian Prime minister.

After reading the few reports I have seen on the case, it is difficult to see what The New Straits Times will gain from suing two members of the public, other than to send a warning to those who write about them. It will be interesting to see what developments are made in the near future and if the bad publicity that the newspaper is receiving is enough to make them drop any action.
